I’m a writer, reader, adventurer, and dog woman. (See: puppies.) Born and raised in Savannah, GA, I went to college Vermont, spent a year in Irkutsk and Moscow, Russia, and shortly thereafter ran off to the great state of Alaska and fell in love. I stayed to get my MFA from University of Alaska Fairbanks, and now I live on the Kenai Peninsula.
At the beginning of 2016, I signed up for the Mount TBR Reading Challenge. My goal is to reach Mt. Kilimanjaro – or, 60 books – by the end of the year. I’ve been blogging about the books as I read them. You can read these posts here.
I’m currently at work on a creative nonfiction manuscript titled The Lowcountry. Several individual essays have already been published:
“Of Love and Other Dogs” Newfound Vol. 6(2) (nominated for a Pushcart Prize)
“The Lowcountry” South Dakota Review Vol. 52(2)
